Anchorage Football Officials Association
 2010 TACKLE TRAINING:

The format for training has changed from year's prior. We would like to
concentrate on an interactive format that focuses on mechanics and
officiating procedures. On Saturday July 24th, we will conduct an all day
"Tackle" training clinic. The Classroom Session will begin at 8:30am at the
1st National Bank conference room at 1751 Gambell Street. The morning session will be classroom based and will cover rule changes and points of emphasis.

We will then break for lunch and then resume with a Mechanics Session at AFS in the afternoon. Please be prepared for activity and dress appropriately for the weather. Sweats, shorts and officiating accessories are welcome.

AFOA Varsity Officials with at least four years of "Varsity" level
experience will only be required to attend one of either of the Classroom
Sessions. (July 24 or July 30)

The evening Classroom Session on Friday, July 30th at 5:30 pm will be a repeat of the July 24 morning session.

There will be a mandatory on-field scrimmage participation July 31st,
(location and times TBA). Officials who attend the Alaska Football
Officials Camp in June will not be required to attend an AFOA Classroom
Session. Officials who do attended the June camp or for veteran officials
who want to attend training sessions are encouraged to attend as many
training sessions as they want (not required, highly encouraged). All
officials including veteran officials must attend the scrimmage on the 31st
of July. Officials who are unable to attend any of the afore mentioned
training dates will be required to complete the online "Crew of 5 Course"
certification within the USA Football web site.
